But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all your works. Ps 73:28
Perspective. a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view.
What’s your perspective on life, the things that happen everyday? Are you quick to panic when you receive new information that appears to contradict the word that God has spoken over you or do you remind yourself of what God has spoken no matter what storms come?
When the 12 spies went to Canaan to survey the land that God had given the Israelites in Numbers 13, they saw many things including a land flowing with milk and honey and some massive grapes but they also saw giant inhabitants. Ten of them chose to focus on the giants and ignore what God said but Joshua and Caleb believed the report of the Lord.
The ten said ‘we seem like grasshoppers in our own eyes’ Where are your eyes looking, what frequency are your ears tuned to? Are you on the heavenly station or are you constantly plugged into the world? Whose report do you believe? Your perspective in life really truly matters. You have to see the world through the eyes of God and not the other way around.
In this world, we will see many things, things that may make our resolve shake, things that make us feel like God is too slow or that evil pays better. The psalmist almost lost his foothold because he set his eyes on the ‘prosperity of the wicked’ in Psalms 37. Just like the world we live in today, it looked like everything was going well for the wicked, they have an easy life, they are not struggling like you, they have opened five businesses while you are still struggling with your one. You want to do what they are doing instead so that you can hammer, your eye has entered their matter and you are using them to judge your life and God.
If you notice this happening to you, like the psalmist you need to go back to the sanctuary of God so that you can understand their final destiny. You must remember not to judge life based on the very short period on earth, as believers we must see things from an eternal perspective, we must see things with the lens of God.
Pray with me ”Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Ps 139:23-24

I am reminded of a conversation I had with my friend a couple days ago. We talked about how God is always speaking and the importance of listening and obeying. He also pointed out that the world is also always speaking and we hear what we are attuned to. Just like when you are scoring music, if you tune out everything but soprano, that’s all you’ll hear.
Get into the habit of tuning out everything that contradicts the truth of the word of God over your life. It doesn't matter if anyone else thinks you are being unrealistic or foolish. The Word of God is Yes and Amen.
If you are listening to God, you will see that all of creation is testifying to how great He is and that He is working everything together for your good. It’s like a muscle and it takes practice but the more you use it, the more natural it becomes. Get into the discipline of listening only to God.
